Few days to the presidential election in Nigeria, a cyber security expert, Prof Alex Akpodiete, has called on Nigerians to cast their votes and elect the candidate of the Labour Party, as the next president to guaranty a better future of Nigeria at the coming election.
Prof Akpodiete who made this call in Ughelli, Delta state, at a media parley with Journalists, held that with the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, Nigeria will be in a better hand .
According to him, “We are here to talk about the future of Nigeria and address the presidency of Obi, because the main issues with Nigeria is bad leadership.
From 1960 to date since Nigeria got her independence, it has been all about bad leadership and economic injustice as the major problem in Nigeria
“Nigerians are some of the smartest people that I have ever met, but are faced with massive poverty despite the fact that we do not lack natural resources. We have economic injustice as a problem in Nigeria.
On why he wants Obi to be next president of Nigeria, Akpodiete said, “Having seen all the aspirants, I believed that he is the most qualified, except we want to recycle the same system.
“We need to ask ourselves, what happened to all the promises they made in 2015. Are iour lives better today in 2023 than it was in 2015. Did they deliver on all their promises, the answer is no.
“We are challenging Nigerians to know that the days of ballot snatching is gone; they should vote their conscience and when you look at the mirror they will know if they are satisfied with themselves.
“Take note that whoever you vote for during the elections, you will not be able to make amends until the next four years if you vote for a wrong candidate.”
On Structure of Peter Obi, Prof Akpodiete held that it is not by having state chairmen in the 36 states and agents in all polling unit in the 774 local government areas, but that those that cast their votes for their preferred candidates are de facto party agents.
“Peter Obi candidacy is a movement that has grown even bigger than the man and that it is an energy that activates and stimulates the individuals to stand for what is right, for a better future for Nigerians.”
